FAQs

What Yarn Will I Need?

Someone To Write Gnome About is written for fingering weight yarn.

Yarn 1: 50g self-striping

Yarn 2: 50g solid or semi-solid yarn, possibly subtly speckled but keep this calm so your self-striping/variegated can strut its stuff

Yarn 3: 20g for hand/beard/nose-type uses

  • Colour tips and tips for using other weights are in the PreKnitalong PDF available now.

Gnock seems like she’ll be big with all that yarn. Gnock is big, right? How big?

She’s big and beautiful and so perfectly herself. Honestly, I struggle with how to answer the “how big?” question because this feature is part of the secret that makes this a mystery. It’s not just her size, it’s her whole design. It’s her special sauce.

I can say that Gnock is a good fit for the other gnomes I’ve designed and isn’t shockingly tall or someone who is out of place with the others. She looks good with the other tall gnomes I’ve knit, but still seems like her size is noteworthy. (Tall gnomes in the past have been mostly 9-12” / 23-30cm.)

If you like my gnome designs, I’m asking you to trust me on this one. She’s so fabulous.
